You will think that they are ready for Kindergarten as our three and a half year olds turn four in Sweet 400.  We mirror the elements of a typical day in Sweet 350 as we continue to help refine developmental and social skills.  Weekly lesson plans  come home to parents one week in advance along with individualized daily sheets giving you the tools to stay up with the class and reinforce the skills in learning.  Behavior charts that reflect a "red light system" are introduced in Sweet 400 which helps an active four year old monitor his or her day, just like we do in Sweet 450, 500, and ultimately in Kindergarten.   Child /  Staff ratios are the key as in all of our classrooms.

In Sweet 400, we schedule an 11:1 ratio as opposed to the state minimum allowing an 18:1 ratio and our average actual daily ratios run 8-9:1.  We do not group with other classrooms for any reason, all day.  Complementing the room are private boy and girl restrooms, our classes are equipped with two child sized sinks in an effort to stay clean throughout the day.  Spanish and Computer Classes continue to Sweet 400.  Our on staff computer teacher schedules three morning visits a week to the computer lab.  Working with one computer per child and four computers total, she stays close to them to watch their progress and lend a helping hand.  Daily sheets are sent home as well on the days that computer lab is attended.

Our Spanish teacher plans on four afternoon visits to Sweet 400 every week.  Working on simple Spanish skills such as numbers, colors, and nouns as our kids love to explore this very important second language.  Daily sheets go home with each child in this program as well to let parents know how we are doing.  We plan these additional programs as part of our curriculum  in an effort to get our preschoolers ready for that big step to Kindergarten.  When we go to "big school" our children already understand the concepts behind Spanish, Music,  and P.E. and most importantly the teachers that are part of each subject, and the kids love it!  As with all of our classrooms, these programs include all supplies, meals, and snacks in your tuition.

Breakfast is served in the Kafe for Sweet 350-500 and for our earliest children, we will start serving at approximately 6:15 a.m.  The kafe serves breakfast until 7:30 a.m., when our teachers take their children to class, but our kitchen never closes.  Breakfast can be ordered from the room after 7:30 a.m. and we deliver it in.  This is the first Pre-K class that does come to the Kafe for Breakfast.

Our playground for the three and four year olds is twice the size of our two year olds and separated from the other children's play area.  Although large, we only schedule one class at a time for recess on the playground.  For rainy days we can also use the gym during the school year.

** Sweet 250 and Sweet 300 both have 6:00 a.m. lead teachers with breakfast served in the classroom.  We do not group with other classrooms for any reason, all day.  Your staff, your child's classmates, familiar faces everyday. Click on the pictures above to meet the teachers.
